I don't know how to describe what I do or what to call myself. Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, Back-end Development, DevOps, yes I do those things, but that's not the whole story. So, a picture being a thousand words and all...here's a recent graph of service I worked on. I did some maths and that’s a 90% drop in alert volume. This to say, that this is what I do.
I am cloud agnostic-- Rails, Sidekiq, RabbitMQ, Docker, Ansible, Postgresql and Grafana/Prometheus are my go-to tools. I like fixing things.
